The Power Of Cooperate Prayer

We live in an age where prayer is much needed in society. When we look at the news or read the papers we see the need for much prayer. One question when it comes to praying is can I just stay home and pray or do I need to join in cooperate prayer in my church?

That's a good question and we shall examine it further. I firmly believe that both prayers are necessary and important but there is more power in cooperate prayer than in private prayer.

Let me explain to you the difference between cooperate prayer and private prayer. Cooperate prayer refers to praying with other people other than yourself on a particular need or needs. Private prayer refers to praying for a particular need by you. God answer both types of prayer but he favors one over the other which is cooperate prayer.

Effective cooperate prayer depends on two important factors in my opinion.

1. The number of people involved
2. The private prayer life or relationship with God of those people involved in the cooperate prayer.

As you can see private prayer and cooperate prayer goes hand in hand.

First of all let me explain what I mean by the number of people involved. The bible does speak that 1 can put a 1000 to flight and 2 shall put 10,000 to flight. What this means is that the more people involved in the battle the greater the chances of defeating the enemies who will try to stop you from gaining victory over whatever you are praying for. Commonsense will tell you more often than not that an army of 1000 will be defeated by an army of 100,000 in a war. However there is more to answered prayer than numbers as we shall see with the second factor.

Now if the people involved in the cooperate prayer are not people devoted to much praying in their private life or don't spend much time with God or have a good relationship with God there will not be much or any victory in such prayer. Instead of 1 putting a 1000 to flight it may just end up turning to 1000 putting 1 to flight. A good example of this was in the book of Acts when someone tried to cast out demons but the demons told them -'Paul I know but who are you?' The demons then attacked the man and gained victory over the man so as our can see it does depend a lot on who is praying as well. It is better to have 5 Holy Ghost filled believers praying for a need than 100 so called Christians trying to pray. Those Christians won't get much of an answer. The bible says that God inhabits the praises of his people. The key word here is his people. God will answer the cries of his people and not those who are not his.

This is why it is important to get your life right with God first before you go trying to defeat the enemy. We have a very strong enemy and unless we have the Lord fighting on our side we will be defeated. This is why having a proper private prayer life is vitally important to strong cooperate prayer. Great things happen when Christians come together in unity, and in the strength of their numbers than when they try to go it alone.

This is why it is important to come out to the prayer meetings in your church so that God will answer the prayers faster than if 1 person is trying to pray alone. We need to come together as a body or else much prayer will be left unanswered. I've seen greater things accomplished in cooperate prayer than in private prayer.

So please join the prayer meetings in your church and see God do great things in your life and in your community and those around you. I dare you to put this to the test and tell me what happens.
